The Screwtape Letters — Series Title Sequence
Project type
Series Title Sequence
Date
Spring 2025
Location
SUNY Oswego
Inspired by The Screwtape Letters, this conceptual title sequence reimagines the literary work as the opening sequence for a psychological drama series. The project combines motion graphics, typography, experimental editing, and layered visual imagery to create an unsettling and atmospheric introduction that reflects the themes of temptation, manipulation, and moral conflict present within the narrative.
Through distorted visuals, symbolic imagery, textured cinematography, and cinematic pacing, the sequence explores how motion design and visual storytelling can establish tone, tension, and emotional atmosphere before a story fully begins. The project focused heavily on rhythm, typography, and visual continuity while blending still imagery, filmed footage, and motion effects into a cohesive title experience.
