The Parable of Hugh — Conceptual Installation & Visual Narrative
Project type
Conceptual Installation & Visual Narrative
Date
Spring 2026
Location
SUNY Oswego
Inspired by The Parable of Hugh from Healing the Shame That Binds You, this conceptual project explores identity, perception, shame, and the influence of external image through visual storytelling and installation-based design. Developed as part of the broader themes surrounding Eikonoklastes, the work examines how individuals become shaped by the perceptions, expectations, and projected identities placed upon them by others.
Through typography, symbolic imagery, environmental design, and narrative structure, the project transforms written text into an immersive visual experience intended to provoke reflection on selfhood, influence, and the emotional consequences of distorted perception.
