Project type
ARTivive Exhibition
Date
May 2026
Location
SUNY Oswego
Eikonoklastes is a multidisciplinary graduate exhibition exploring influence, perception, and the responsibility of image through graphic design, installation, motion, and interactive media. Rooted in the concept of eikonoklastes—Greek for “image breaker”—the project examines the tension between identity and perception, questioning how individuals become shaped, confined, and understood through the images projected onto them by society, media, and collective influence.
The exhibition combines large-scale visual design, conceptual installations, augmented reality elements, motion graphics, and written narrative to create an immersive and at times unsettling experience. Through fragmented imagery, symbolic environments, and layered visual storytelling, the work investigates the power images hold in constructing personal and cultural identity while challenging viewers to reflect on the ethical role of creators, designers, and media within contemporary visual culture.
